Section-1 Theoretical Concepts
- Internet & WWW :
  Introduction to Internet & WWW, Backbone of Internet, Protocols, TCP/IP, IP Address-IP4, IP6, Classes of IP4 address, HTTP, HTTPS, Sockets, ports-Reserved ports, unreserved ports. OSI model, service provider, DNS server, Domain names, Client-Server Architecture, Three Tire Architecture, Middleware.
- Browser & Web server :
  Introduction to Browser, Discussion on popular Web browsers, Browser as client. Introduction to web server, Discussion on popular Web servers, Open source Software, Freeware software, proxy server.
Section-2 Theoretical and Practical Concepts
- HTML :
  Introduction to HTML, HTML versions, meta tags, HTML 5, CSS, Tools for creating HTML files, HTML tags, Advanced HTML tags, Interpreter vs compiler, HTML code interpreted by browser, how to run html file.
- Design Static Web Pages :
  Design issues, Simple web page, Pages with lists, table, images, Forms, Frames, Sections, plug-ins, Audio, Video tags. Links- forward link, back link, combining pages in to website.
- Design Dynamic Web Pages :
  Design issues, Simple Web pages, Design simple dynamic web pages, Asynchronous-Synchronous pages, Scripts, Number options for writing scripts, embedding scripts, applets and servelets.
Section-3 Theoretical and Practical Concepts
- DBMS :
  Introduction and to DBMS, RDBMS, MySQL. Advantages of DBMS, Database structure, 4GL, SQL, SQL statements :Create Database, Create table, select records, Insert record, delete record, update record, sorting tables, Keys: Primary Key, Secondary Key, Candidate key, Constraints, triggers, Setting relation between tables, Database design concepts, E-R diagrams, Normalization.
Section-4 Theoretical and Practical Concepts
- PHP :
  Introduction to PHP, Basic of PHP, Artifacts of PHP- Language syntax, Data types, conditional statements, loops, functions, calling functions, Built-in functions. Calling other scripts with in scripts, Writing simple Scripts, Writing Advanced scripts, AJAX, connection with database, MySQL connectivity, Server side programming-servlets, WAMP tool, installing web site on web server-Apache, IIS, WAMP.
Section-5 Theoretical Concepts
- Web Engineering :
  Web Engineering Processes, Design issues, Importance of esthetics, color scheme, choice of images, user interface design issues. Web page/site testing techniques, test plan, test data and test cases, Version management, support and maintenance, Standards and Specifications.
Section-6 Laboratory Work
- Lab Assignments (Daily) - HTML tag based, Advanced HTML based, Database ,Simple PHP, Advanced PHP, HTML-DBMS-PHP, Dynamic Web Pages/Sites, Servlets.
  
  Project Work (Third Week Onwards)
  
  Project Artifacts Template : Objectives, SRS Document, E-R Diagrams, DFD, Database Design, GUI Design, Backend design,, Test Plan, Test Cases, Test Data, Source code, Documentation, User manual. Technical reports, results, output screen shoots, conclusion, Future scope.
